ORIGINAL PAINTINGS
My paintings are an invitation to slow down.
Inspired by the landscapes of the Margaret River region and the quiet beauty of everyday objects, each work explores light, stillness and the gentle reminder that extraordinary beauty is often found in ordinary moments.

I have been aching to paint images of the distant landscape from high ground every since we moved to Dunsborough. This scene captured the distant bay and the aspect of what I love about this region; how the farmland and bush comes right down to the shore. This piece was painted entirely with a palette knife.

This painting features vibrant daisies nestled in one of Sally May Mills miniature hand formed vases and is part of the "Petals and Vessels" series. The works in this collection celebrate the simple beauty of flowers and foliage coupled with the way that light dances on ceramic, glass and enamel surfaces. Painted in a time in our history when we are forced to slow and consider the beauty of the ordinary and the every day; to be thankful for the little details in life, and to remember the bigger picture.

I love painting enamel. This jug was sitting happily in the beautiful home we used for our photo shoot and just beckoned to be used in a set up. The Yellow of the band brought out the beautiful golden glow of the native nuts. Sally’s little vase features, as well as her sea urchin I couldn’t resist bringing along for the ride!

This painting reflects on the solitary time of isolation and celebrates the beauty of coming back to basics. Simple forms are exquisite when exposed to soft light. When taking the photo reference for this one, Ange and I had fun arranging the stems and enjoying how one would stubbornly swing to the right. It cheekily eludes to distance felt between loved ones.
