This painting features the simple yet intricate blooms of paper dasies, and drew me in because of the way the light flooded through this old glass coca cola bottle. This piece also pays homage in style to an earlier work of mine, Daisy Love in terms of the techniques used, background and simplicity.
It is part of the "Petals and Vessels" series. The works in this collection celebrate the simple beauty of flowers and foliage coupled with the way that light dances on ceramic, glass and enamel surfaces. Painted in a time in our history when we are forced to slow and consider the beauty of the ordinary and the every day; to be thankful for the little details in life, and to remember the bigger picture.
