From My Easel

I've always been fascinated by the way light can transform the simplest of subjects into something extraordinary. To me, those moments are gentle reminders to slow down, to notice, and to respond with gratitude. How beautiful are paper daisies or Everlastings?

The title, Contentment, reflects that quiet response. It speaks of humility, wonder and thankfulness for the beauty woven throughout creation. My hope is that this painting encourages you to pause long enough to notice those moments for yourself.

About This Composition

Contentment features a bunch of Everlasting daisies arranged in a handcrafted ceramic vessel by Sally May Mills of Claylines, painted in Heidi Emma's signature tonal impressionist style. Soft natural light, expressive brushwork and a restrained earthy palette create a peaceful still life that celebrates Australian botanicals, simplicity and the quiet beauty revealed through light.
