From My Easel
This piece was a created as a celebration of anticipation. The kind of anticipation people feel as they veer around the bend of the road leading to Yallingup Beach, and wondering what the conditions are like on this day, this time, knowing that it will be unlike any other day. I was given the pleasure and challenge of capturing that feeling for a commission piece. The parameters were loose - I could choose the time of day, the season. This resulted in days of driving down to Yallingup and pulling over to the side of the road, anxious to see if conditions met what my mind’s eye hoped for. Eventually, this was the scene I decided on, using reference photos, paintings I had done ‘en plein air’ (outdoors on site) and a bit of creative licence to create a composition that draws you into the scene.
About This Place
Yallingup is one of the Margaret River Region's most treasured coastal destinations. Known for its sweeping beaches, rugged headlands and ever-changing light, it has inspired generations of artists, surfers and nature lovers. Every visit feels a little different, and that's what keeps drawing me back. I hope this painting captures a little of the peace, anticipation and beauty that so many people associate with this special place.

Canvas prints come in three options: print only, stretched, and framed.
Frame dimensions - add 2.7cm to height and width- e.g if print size is 30cm h x 40m w, External frame size is 32.7cm h x 42.7cm w. Frames are 5.5cm deep.
PAPER PRINT:
1 of only 50 Limited Edition Prints of the original Heidi Emma painting. Option of print only or framed in a beautiful raw oak or white frame.
As paper prints require glass, shipping costs reflect the care needed to transport it -
External Frame dimensions - add 6cm to height and width- e.g. if print size is 30cm h x 40m w, External frame size is 36cm h x 46cm w. Frames are 4cm deep.

Limited Edition prints will include the print number, such as 1/30
