From My Easel

Sometimes a painting begins with colour.

On this occasion, it was the beautiful blue-grey tones of the aged metal vessels that first caught my attention. Their weathered surfaces, softened by years of use, provided the perfect contrast to the delicate blooms they held.

As the light moved gently across the metal, every dent, reflection and subtle texture seemed to come alive. It's moments like these that continually inspire me. Light has a remarkable way of revealing beauty in both the ordinary and the extraordinary, inviting us to pause long enough to truly see it.

I hope Steely Blues encourages that same sense of quiet observation—a reminder that beauty often lives in the things we might otherwise overlook.
