Signing off for 2024 and Merry Christmas!

How has 2024 been for you, dear follower?

2024 has been a big year for me - moving into our new home after 7 moves in 2 years, planning and producing for my largest and most successful exhibition of my art career and the creation of some of my most favourite artworks yet. I've planted over 400 native plants on our block to revegetate it and hope in time to yield some beautiful foliage and blooms for future still life work. I continue to paint from our kitchen table, and most recently have taken over a corner of our future theatre room, whilst my studio houses a couple during the rental crisis down here.

I've also been a busy beaver setting up our lovely new short stay accommodation on our property Wild Spring, called "The Honey Pot Suite". It was a great new avenue to exercise my creativity and love for interior decorating and I'm so proud to welcome guests in 2025. There is also plans for The Creatives Studio in 2026, where fellow artists or writers can escape to my actual studio space and enjoy a stay, create and even have private tuition with me. You can stay in the loop by following Wild Spring (instagram.com/wildspring_studios).

There’s been some amazing arty highlights:

-  my most successful exhibition  in Fremantle, 'Perfectly Still',
- being selected to exhibit at Fine Art at Hale in 2025,
- having my work showcased at Rivendell Winery in Yallingup,
- donating my largest landscape painting of Smiths Beach to raise $5000 for the Yallingup Bolunteer Firefighters
- delivering painting workshops to private bookings,
- launching my best print release yet (still available on my website).

In there somewhere, I've managed to educate precious 5 year old humans 2 days a week and have kept my family alive for another year. Winning!

I am incredibly grateful for your support  - reading my infrequent newsletters, your encouraging words via email, on Insta, and Facebook, and talking to you in person.
I create because I feel called to, and it is the icing on the cake when my work resonates with you and in turn graces your walls.

What does 2025 hold for me?

We never know what the future holds but I have a few exciting intentions!

One of which is a series of small, affordable paintings released one per week on Sunday afternoons during Autumn. These precious pieces will be released on instagram and available first to those who comment. Keep an eye out!

I am considering participating in the Margaret River Open Studios again in September after a few years break. What do you think? 😉

I can’t wait to capture more of the South West's beautiful landscapes, with a particular focus on small vistas local to my home that you might recognise.

I will continue to take private bookings of groups for workshops, either in the South West or in Perth. To inquire or book, just hit reply and I can fill you in. In short, if you gather 4 or more people, I can come to you or set up at a lovely venue and teach you my technique.

I’d better get back to the Christmas festivities!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful start to 2025.

Take care and chat soon,

Heidi Emma

What a fabulous experience that was!

Well Perfectly Still is done! What an amazing experience.

Bringing together a remarkable collection of still life and botanical paintings from a collection of 9 leading Western Australian contemporary female artists.

I feel so blessed to have been a part of it and am grateful to the collectors who had the means to make some of my pieces part of their personal collection. Pieces have safely made their way to Melborne and Perth Suburbs and I look forward to seeing photos of where they now grace the walls of homes.

The remaining pieces are now on my website, so please do grab a cuppa and enjoy having a look and read the blurbs about why I created each piece. www.heidiemma.com.au/shop

Exciting news is, that I will soon be releasing a limited amount of prints of some of my exhibition pieces. If you wish to be notified so that you can be first in as it will be strictly limited, please send me a message to join the wait list.

Thank you to friends, family, collectors and supporters who all popped in across the exhibition week to say hello and appreciate the work. You can see all the happy snaps on my Instagram feed and highlights.

I would love your feedback on what you would like to see more of with my work, so please do drop me a line to let me know what direction you are appreciating!

2024 Happenings!

Hello art lovers!

It has been a long year of being unable to paint regularly due to a range of personal experiences. It’s been an intense couple of years, but I’m finally now in a space to paint and am excited by what is emerging.

I’m busy painting at my kitchen table in our new home, working on 9-10 pieces that will be exhibited in a VERY special group still life exhibition in September. If you appreciate my still life work, this is not one to miss!

More details to come, but for now, save these dates in your diary:

September 6th - Opening Night, Moore Gallery, Fremantle

Exhibition open daily September 6-17

Check back in for sneak peaks of the works you can expect to see, and follow me on Instagram at @heidi_emma_fine_art and Facebook at @heidiemmafineart

5 Days of Open Studios To Go!

Margaret River Region Open Studios has seen many visitors from interstate and Perth flock to the South West, ready to encounter artists in their usual space.

It has been a joy to welcome everyone to my studio at Flametree, Winery where I have created works for over 2 years now. It is humbling to see how well received my latest works have been.

I invite you to come and see the collection as the event winds up. There are still plenty of original works, prints, tea towels and gift cards available.

Flametree’s doors are open 10-5pm each day from now until the end of the long weekend. If you would like to ensure that I am there to meet you and talk you through my process and welcome you, please get in touch with me on 0421659249 to arrange a time.

New Still Life Recieved Well

The start of a new still life focus has been well received, with several works selling at this year’s Open Studios and another at The Studio Gallery and Bistro, where several of my still life works are available.

Together Is Better, 40cm x 80cm, Oil on Wood Board

This new focus is clean, contemporary, modern and yet classic; celebrating the objects themselves and the beauty and detail of Western Australian native flowers.

Come and view them across the next 4 days as Open Studios continues until the end of the long weekend.

Hundreds of art lovers descended on the Margaret River Region and enjoyed the variety and magic of seeing artists at work.
